On July 30, 2025, WISESTONE T signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Digital Technology (DDT) under the Ministry of Technology and Communications (Lao PDR) in Vientiane, Laos, officially launching collaboration to establish the country's digital certification ecosystem.
This MOU marks the starting point of collaboration between the two institutions to jointly conduct a preliminary feasibility study for establishing a digital platform quality certification system in Laos and implementing ISO/IEC-based international certification processes. Based on this, the partnership will serve as the foundation for developing a digital testing and certification center and formulating mid -to long-term strategies, including ODA (Official Development Assistance) projects.
At the signing ceremony, Siriluck Sayabounsou, Director of the Department of Digital Technology, along with relevant Lao officials, attended on behalf of Laos. WISESTONE T was represented by CEO In-seok Kim and other executives who visited Laos to sign the MOU and discuss future implementation plans.
The key points of the agreement are as follows:
Introduction of a digital platform testing and quality certification system based on ISO/IEC international standards
Feasibility study for establishing a digital testing and certification center in Laos
Implementation of educational programs for AI-based quality evaluation systems and automation tools
Joint planning of ODA projects related to digital government and the digital economy
This agreement represents a collaboration aligned with the Lao government's digital transformation policies and smart infrastructure development strategy. Leveraging WISESTONE Group's expertise in quality certification as a KOLAS-accredited testing institution, it is expected to serve as an opportunity to contribute to the establishment of a digital trust ecosystem in the Southeast Asian region.
Going forward, WISESTONE T plans to pursue various joint initiatives with the Lao government and key institutions, including the implementation of international certification systems, training of specialized personnel, and the expansion of digital quality infrastructure.
